Kucinich Gores Bush

Gore Vidal speaks out in support of Dennis Kucinich's call for the impeachment of the Current Resident.

"Although this is the most important motion made in Congress in the 21st century, it was also the most significant plea for a restoration of the republic, which had been swept to one side by the mad antics of a president bent on great crime."

Of course, nothing will be done, as the lapdogs of power are well heeled and constrained with a tight leash. It remains to be seen whether a change to a Democratic administration can unseat the corporate oligarchy that holds dominion over the united States of America. Obama has talked a big stick. The press has fawned over the image of an "unwhite" Presidential candidate, which gives one pause, since the same press see fit to ignore the call for impeachment of their darling village idiot.

Whether Obama offers a true alternative to the status quo is somewhat suspect when one considers his rumored choices of advisors and future cabinet: Chuck Hagel and Arnold Schwarzenegger do not bode well for the future of this nation. Does Obama have the experience to keep popular neocons in place? Once the balloons are all burst and the confetti sent to the land fill, it will be too late to change what few minds are left in this country.

As if there were a choice...

  1. Yeah, this is a show put on for no one. I admire him for having the balls to do it, but he had to know he'd get zero support.

Obama is pretty much all show. Gotta be better than Bush, but an ape would be improvement over Bush.

It's hard to figure out when he's telling the truth and when he's lying to reach out to certain groups. For example, all that talk about Iran and how they are a "real threat" that he must "eliminate." Is this to satisfy the Israeli sympathizers or does he really believe this?

He talks about increasing Blackwater's presence in Iraq.

I figure where there's smoke, there's fire, so he's going to offer marginal, not significant, improvement.

And he's not black. Doesn't matter, but I'm pretty sick and tired of people supporting one person over another simply over genetics. It's absurd. Support someone because they're going to do something that makes sense!

On a positive note, Amtrak ticket sales are soaring.

  2. Well, I can't say Obama or johnboy are going to do any good. Personally, I'd rather have a decent conservative in there...less gov. the better...but lately the repubs have been anything but. I have a bad feeling Obama is all show...at least Johnboy might bridge the gap. Anyway all I'm worried about is the price of gas..."drill here, drill now, pay less." (sarcasm)...we could just ride bikes to drop the price....or not.
